New Orleans:   June 2, 2007  June 3, 2007  June 4, 2007  June 5, 2007  June 6, 2007

Today was the last day of the conference, so I didn't have a lot of time for photos, but I did take some from my room on the 11th floor of the Crowne Plaza Astor. You can see quite a bit of the city from there. I also took some photos of the room, in particular of the phone, which was filthy, and of some stains and marks on the bedspread and pillows. You never want to think too much about the state of bed clothes in hotels. I took the time to e-mail some of the photos to Crowne Plaza customer service, suggesting they might want to train their housekeepers to look for such things.

The last photos are of some islands of gay life in the French Quarter, which seems overwhelmingly geared toward heterosexual frat boys, though at the intersection of Bourbon and St. Ann Streets you are in fact surrounded by gay bars.
