Dayton Pride Dinner, June 19, 2004: Parade 06-05-04 CMC Dayton concert 12-04-04 DGMC PFLAG concert 12-14-04 DGMC Christmas concert 12-19-04

Today was the annual Pride Dinner. I forget have many there have been so far, but there have been more than 10. Shortly after I came out, in 1992, I volunteered for the Pride Dinner committee.

This year's was special for two reasons, the first being that this was the first to feature a performance by the Dayton Gay Mens Chorus, of which I am a member, and the second being that this was the first held in the Winter Garden of the Schuster Center, a step up, I think, from the Convention Center.

After we finished eating, the member of the Chorus went upstairs to have a final rehearsal. Dr. Bob was gracious enough to take pictues with my camera for me (I think he enjoyed doing so, at least I think so after seeing all the pictures he took). That way I got to see all the drag queens who performed before us. As you can see from the pictures, we got kind of amibitious and despite having sworn off any choreography during our first year, we did descend the spiral staircase singing "Bound for Jubilee" as we walked. I think we did pretty good, even if I do say so myself. The audience must have thought so too, judging from their applause, or at least they were very polite.
